VN, Laos border localities forge cooperation

The Border Guard of central Thanh Hoa province and the Military Command of Laos’ Houaphan province have agreed to enhance the exchange and dissemination of information while engaging in joint patrols to protect the shared border line.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU)to this effect was signed at a meeting in Thanh Hoa province on August27, under which the two sides also pledged to work closely with eachother to fight all types of crimes, especially drug crimes.

The two sides will promote educational campaigns among Vietnamese andLao officials and people, particularly the Mong ethnic group, to stopuncontrolled migration and illegal border crossing.

At thesame time, they will continue giving advice to the steering committeesfor border marker planting of the two provinces in completing legaldocuments for border markers.

In the first months of thisyear, the two sides have coordinated in maintaining security and orderas well as socio-economic development in the Thanh Hoa-Houaphan borderarea, contributing to the friendship and comprehensive cooperationbetween the two localities.-VNA

Vietnam, China celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations

Vietnam eyes stronger cooperation with Russia

Foreign policy contributes to propelling Vietnam into new era

2024 saw Vietnam significantly expanding its diplomatic activities with numerous partners and at various important multilateral forums and mechanisms. The country’s key leaders conducted a total of 60 external activities, including paying 21 visits to foreign countries and attend major multilateral conferences, as well as hosting 25 delegations of foreign leaders to Vietnam.
