Vietnam attaches importance to boosting cooperation with Russia in all fields, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said.

The Vietnamese Government leader made this remark at a reception given to visiting Russian Security Council Secretary General Nicolai Platonovich Patrushev, in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on June 9.

He said he was delighted at the fine development of the traditional friendship and the Vietnam-Russia strategic partnership, which brought practical benefits to both sides.

Praising the results of working sessions between the Russian Security Council delegation and relevant Vietnamese agencies, PM Dung affirmed his support for cooperation agreements reached by both sides and asked Russia to help Vietnam in personnel training and to provide specialist security equipment.

PM Dung expressed his wish that the two sides would continue strengthening cooperation in economic trade and investment, especially through facilitating Russian enterprises to operate in Vietnam .

He took the occasion to ask for closer coordination in preparations for Russian Prime Minister V. Putin’s visit to Vietnam , especially cooperation documents to be signed during the visit.

For his part, General Patrushev expressed his joy at the development of bilateral cooperation in various fields, including security and defence, and affirmed an intention to boost security cooperation between Russia and Vietnam .

He expected that his visit would contribute to making Prime Minister Putin’s upcoming visit to Vietnam a success./.
