VN presents Ho Chi Minh prize to Russian experts

President Truong Tan Sang has awarded the Ho Chi Minh prize to 10 Russian oil and gas experts for their great contributions to Vietnam ’s economic, science and technology development.

A ceremony to hand over the prize to the Russian experts was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow on Mar. 21.

Thedecoration was made in recognition of their contributions to thescientific and technological project to discover and effectively exploitoil from the Cuu Long basin in the Vietnamese continental shelf.
Two of the Russian experts were posthumously conferred with the prize.

Addressingthe ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Pham Xuan Son and GeneralDirector of the Vietnam oil and gas group PetroVietnam praisedcontributions of the Russian experts to the cause of the development ofthe education, oil and gas sectors of Vietnam .

They expressedhope that the traditional and comprehensive cooperation and strategicpartnership, including the oil and gas sector, will be further enhanced.-VNA

Vietnamese puppetry seeks renewal amid preservation challenges

People’s Artist Nguyen Hoang Tuan, Chairman of the Hanoi Theatre Association, noted that while northern Vietnam had 27 puppetry guilds in 1986, only 14 remain today. Many traditional plays and original scripts have been lost, hurting restoration and preservation efforts.

Project on digital transformation in cultural sector approved

By 2030, the project targets the establishment of shared digital platforms across 100% of cultural sectors. All digitised cultural heritage will be standardised under the national data framework and shared in accordance with regulations, while 80% of public digital heritage assets are expected to receive digital identifiers to clarify ownership and management, encouraging organisations and individuals to do the same and support market development.
