Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem has given the nod to a pilot plan to intensify teaching of the Vietnamese language in overseas Vietnamese communities from now through 2020.

In accordance with the Deputy PM’s official dispatch, the pilot plan will be carried out in Laos, Cambodia, Russia, the Czech Republic, the US and Canada in 2009.

The Deputy PM entrusted the Foreign Ministry to coordinate with the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) in implementing the plan and using a curriculum authored by the MoET for teaching Vietnamese to overseas Vietnamese.

Based on the results, the Foreign Ministry will design a project to intensify the teaching of Vietnamese to expats for submission to the PM for approval./.
