The Vietnam-Korea Peace Village was inaugurated in Tam Dan commune, Phu Ninh district, in the central province of Quang Nam on Nov. 3.
The two-year project was built at a cost of nearly 2 million USD and funded by the War Veterans Association of the Republic of Korea (RoK).
The village covers 2.6 ha with 10 convalescence areas capable of receiving about 100 war veterans and sick soldiers.
The village will also receive children of war veterans, especially those who are affected by Agent Orange/dioxin.
Addressing the ceremony, Chairman of the RoK War Veterans Association Ryu Ji Jeol said the village was a symbol of peace and reconciliation, contributing to boosting friendship between the two countries and healing the wounds of the war./.
