At the workshop (Source: VNA) KienGiang (VNA) – How to improve coverage of Party building work was themain theme of a workshop held by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and Departmentof Information and Communications of the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang onApril 12.
VNADeputy General Director Le Quoc Minh said journalists and press agencies shouldbe aware that the coverage of Party building work should direct the flow ofinformation and public opinion on new matters as well as issues of publicconcern such as the fight against corruption, wastefulness and other bad deeds.
Besides,it is necessary to promote new, creative models and examples in Party building,Minh said.
Delegatesat the workshop underlined the need to develop a contingent of journalists whoare enthusiastic about Party building and have firm political will, good ethicsand professional knowledge.
Theyalso said coordination of the information and education sector, relevantministries and agencies, and local authorities is necessary to help journalistsaccess accurate information sources.
NguyenThien Can, deputy head of the Kien Giang provincial Party Committee’sInformation and Education Board, was of the opinion that press agencies shouldseek new ways of reporting about Party building work.
Healso proposed maintaining and launching more specialized pages and columnsdevoted to Party building, and increasing broadcasting durations to promote thework.-VNA
