Hanoi (VNA) – Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Chairman of the PCC's Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia and delegates on June 17 pressed the button to inaugurate the Vietnam News Agency (VNA)'s special website on protecting the Party’s ideological foundation.

The activity was part of his visits to VNA, Nhan dan (People) Newspaper, and Tap chi Cong san (Communist Review) on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).

The website, at https://happyvietnam.vnanet.vn, features various forms of information like text, photo, television, audio and infographic, produced with the support of digital technology.

With the columns of Happy Vietnam, Resolution and Life, Vietnam’s Reform, Young Vietnamese, and Multimedia, it highlights efforts by the entire political system in materialising the Resolution adopted at the 13th National Party Congress, works on the theoretical and practical foundation of socialism and the process of building socialism in Vietnam, socio-economic achievements, and the Party's policies and guidelines with the ultimate goal of people benefiting from the results.

On this occasion, Nghia extended greetings to VNA’s staff and lauded the agency for its outstanding fulfillment of the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people during its 79-year journey.

He stressed that the fourth Industrial Revolution requires journalists to have firm political will and good professional knowledge and skills, while mastering science and technology to offer mainstream information about Vietnam to friends around the globe as quickly as possible.

The Party official commended VNA’s staff for their great efforts in fulling their tasks, providing updates on issues emerging during the cause of national construction over the past time.

Notably, the agency has adopted innovations in producing information to protect the Party’s ideological foundation and oppose hostile allegations, and played an active part in introducing theoretical works by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the public at home and abroad, and building a database in Vietnamese and foreign languages on Party Congresses and the National Assembly, Nghia said.

At the same time, it has teamed up with some units under the PCC's Commission for Information and Education in building and operating applications on digital devices to disseminate the Party's policies and resolutions among Party organisations and cells nationwide, he continued.

Lauding the inauguration of the special website, he said it demonstrates the agency’s role and position as well as the attention its leaders have paid to protecting the Party’s ideological foundation.

The official urged VNA’s staff continue to stay united, innovative and responsible to better complete their assigned tasks, noting external information service helps friends and partners understand more about Vietnam.

VNA General Director Vu Viet Trang said the agency has stepped up digital transformation to offer various multimedia products to raise the efficiency of the communications work, adding that over the past time, it has developed many special websites to meet requirements and tasks of modern journalism.

Also on this occasion, Nghia extended his best wishes to Nhan dan and Tap chi Cong san, and expressed his belief that they and revolutionary journalists in general will further study President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle, and be better aware of their tasks and responsibilities./.
