The Tin Tuc (news) daily of the Vietnam News Agency on May 23 held a ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its first edition (May 14) and received a second class Labour Order of the State.
The event saw the participation of VNA former and current leaders and representatives of ministries and branches.
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan also sent bouquets of flowers to the newspaper.
Speaking at the ceremony, VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi affirmed the newspaper’s significant achievements over the past time and praised its staff’s ceaseless efforts to improve the newspaper’s quality to meet readers’ requirements during the country’s new development period.
He urged the newspaper’s staff to better ensure multidimensional feature, depth and orientation of the information they produce to deserve a leading newspaper of the Vietnam News Agency, the Government’s information channel.
Apart from printed news published daily and weekly, the newspaper, which succeeds Tin Tuc Weekly and Afternoon News, also introduces online news through its website www.baotintuc.vn .
Over the past three decades, the newspaper has left a deep impression on readers nationwide with prompt and reliable information.
Issued exclusively for disadvantaged, border and island areas, the newspaper has focused on popularising policies of the Party and State and the Government’s guidelines, covering economics, social affairs, national security and defence.
The newspaper has served as a bridge linking the steering committees of the Northwestern, Central Highlands and Southwestern regions with local authorities and people.
On this occasion, Tran Thi Ha, Chairperson of the Central Council for Emulation and Awards and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, presented the second class Labour Order to the newspaper.
VNA Deputy General Director Le Duy Truyen, the daily’s Editor-in-Chief in the 2008-2012 period, has been awarded the Prime Minister’s certificate of merit.-VNA
