Dozens of employees of the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake and their associates volunteered on Sept. 18 to clean up West Lake and the Kim Lien Pagoda's surrounding area to preserve the community environment.
"InterContinental Hanoi Westlake and our associates believe it is now the appropriate time to act to clean up the neighbourhood in which we work and to which many foreign visitors will come in celebration of Hanoi's 1,000th birthday in October," said the hotel's general manager, William Lau.
Joining hands with the Hanoi Environmental Group, the Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment ,and the Australian Embassy, the volunteers were motivated in support of the Clean Up the World movement initiated by the Australia Embassy.
A similar clean-up was held on the same day at another corner of West Lake by the volunteers./.
