Shares in securities companies retreatedafter two days of advances, including Saigon Securities Inc (SSI), whichfell by 1.7 percent; HCM City Securities Co (HCM), down 0.62 percent;and Agribank Securities Co (AGR), down 3.14 percent.
Trading in blue chips was sluggish, with many property shares postinglosses, including Kinh Bac City Development Co (KBC), HCM CityInfrastructure Investment Co (CII), Vincom (VIC), Tan Tao InvestmentIndustry Corp (ITA), Tu Liem Urban Development (NTL) and Hoa Sen Group(HSG).
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Indexdeclined by one percent after six days of gains, closing the session at160.71 points.
Market volume decreased by 20 percentto 42.1 million shares, worth a total of 1.23 trillion VND (64.7million USD).
Losers outnumbered gainers by 198-79,with securities company shares also slumping, including Kim LongSecurities Co (KLS), off 1.53 percent; Bao Viet Securities (BVS), down2.9 percent; VNDirect Securities (VND), down a whopping 4.92 percent;Asia Pacific Securities Co (APS) off 3.57 percent; and Au VietSecurities (AVS), with a loss of 3.24 percent.
KLScontinued as the most active share on the northern bourse on a volume ofabout 3 million.
The Hanoi market on July 15 alsowelcomed the listing of An Phat Plastic and Green Environment Co (AAA).AAA shares closed down 2 percent from their opening price to 49,900 VND(2.63USD ) per share, with 174,100 units changing hands.
Foreign investors continued as net buyers by value on the HCM Citybourse on the day, for a net 5 billion VND (264,550 USD) worth ofshares. They were also net buyers on the Hanoi market, but by a net ofonly 563 million VND (29,820 USD)./.
