Y Ty is a highland commune, located in Bat Xat district, more than 70 km from the center of Lao Cai city.
Coming here in May or June, you can admire the water season of Y Ty. Down in the valley, the sun yellowed the fields that have just been pumped with water. Golden fields with green areas of forests, the sky, and the surrounding cornfields.
The scene of ‘buffalo going first, the plow follows after’ is common in upland villages. Water is taken into the field to prepare for plowing.
Y Ty is the home of the Hmong, Dao, Giay, and Ha Nhi ethnic groups. After pumping water, the locals will transplant rice for the new crop.
People in upland areas, due to the difficult economic conditions, mainly use the traditional manual rice transplanting method. All families are called to farming when the season comes./.
