WB invests 338 mln USD in rural areas in 2012

A World Bank-funded project has poured 338 million USD into Vietnam’s rural areas for 2012.
A World Bank-funded project has poured 338 million USD into Vietnam’s rural areas for 2012.

The third Rural Finance Project has been underway in Vietnam since 2008, with an initial investment of 200 million USD.

It aims to provide loans for rural areas to boost economic development and reduce poverty in a 40-year period with 10 years of grace.

So far, 92,000 loans have been given to rural people to implement subprojects in animal husbandry, farming, seafood processing and handicrafts.-VNA
