Hanoi (VNA) – The presentation ceremony of the 2024 press awards on the economical and efficient use of energy was held on December 17.

The annual contest, part of the Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Programme for the 2019 - 2030 period, is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam Journalists' Association. It aims to promote the community's awareness and sense of responsibility towards energy conservation and efficiency while honouring outstanding reporters and works on the economical and efficient use of energy at both central and local levels.

Accordingly, the organising board awarded one special prize in the television category to the work "Benefits of Energy Auditing" by the group of authors: Nguyen Xuan Diep, Nguyen Thi Ha, Hoang Phuong Loan, and Tran Thi Lieu from the Science and Education Department under the Vietnam Television (VTV).

Besides, the organisers granted four A, seven B, 13 C and 10 consolation prizes to outstanding works in the printed newspaper, e-newspaper, television and radio categories.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long stated that the awarded works are exemplary pieces that truthfully and creatively reflect the achievements and results of energy-saving efforts. The quantity and quality of this year’s entries demonstrate that press agencies have dedicated significant coverage through diverse formats and practical content to raise public awareness and encourage the efficient and economical use of energy.

The 2024 award was launched in April. After more than six months, the organising board received nearly 500 entries, of which 47 were selected to the final round./.
