Hanoi (VNA) – The winners of the third edition of the “Protecting the Party’s ideological foundation in the new situation” contest were announced at a ceremony in Hanoi on April 24. The 38 award-winning works were selected from the nearly 620 entries from more than 50 press agencies across the country.
The organising board presented three first prizes, along with seven second, 13 third, and 15 consolation prizes. Five media agencies with the highest number of entries were also honoured.
The first prizes came to authors from the Dang Cong San (Communist Party of Vietnam) online newspaper, Bac Giang newspaper, and Ly luan Chinh tri va Truyen thong (Political Theory and Communication) magazine.
Addressing the ceremony, Sent. Lieut. Trinh Van Quyet, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army and head of the Steering Committee of the contest, said that the contest had a spillover effect in the country’s socio-political life, drawing special attention and response from journalists across the country.
This year, the organising board received many works with new approaches, high quality contents and attractive formats, contributing to enhancing readers’ confidence in the Party’s leadership, he said.
The official emphasised that the contest has shown that protecting the Party’s ideological foundation not only means protecting the Party's Platform, orientations and policies, but also contributes to protecting the regime and the great revolutionary achievements, while identifying and foiling the plots of hostile and reactionary forces as well as political opportunities to sabotage the revolutionary cause of the Party and people, and criticising signs of deterioration in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle as well as "self-evolution", "self-transformation", contributing to building a strong and clean Party and political system.
At the ceremony, the board launched the fourth edition of the contest in the 2024-2025 period, the details of which available at Quan doi Nhan dan (People’s Army) online newspaper at qdnd.vn./.
