Hanoi (VNA) – The 2nd ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Forum, titled “Fostering women entrepreneurs in advancing the AEC development”, was opened in Hanoi on March 4.

The two-day event is organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The forum involves discussions on the potential of female entrepreneurs as well as their pressures and solutions to support them and foster their contribution to the socio-economic development of their home country and ASEAN as a whole. It will also share initiatives and experience in improving women’s economic power.

In her opening remarks, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan hailed the significance of the forum for the development of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Doan also stressed the need for businesswomen to offer practical advice to governments of ASEAN nations in policy-making.
