Work to begin on longest bridge over Red River

Work on Vinh Thinh Bridge over Red River is scheduled to start on Dec. 18, with a total investment of 137 million USD, according to the Ministry of Transport.

The bridge will link Highway 32 and Highway 2 and with a total length of 5,487m, it will be the longest over the Red River .

The bridge is expected to help ease traffic pressure on Highways 2, 3, 6 and 32.

The project, which is expected to be completed in three years, isfunded with ODA from the Republic of Korea (RoK) and capital fromthe Vietnamese Government. It will be implemented by GS Engineering andConstruction Corporation, a RoK contractor.

DeputyMinister of Transport Truong Tan Vien on Dec. 16 also announced thismonth’s start of projects to upgrade Highway 20 and build passengerterminals at Buon Me Thuot Airport and Da Nang International Airport ./.
