World leaders have continued sending messages of congratulations to Vietnamese leaders on the country’s 72nd National Day (September 2).

Hanoi (VNA) –World leaders have continued sending messages of congratulations to Vietnameseleaders on the country’s 72nd National Day (September 2).

President Htin Kyaw, State Counsellor Aung SanSuu Kyi and Vice Presidents Myint Swe and Henry Van Thio of Myanmar cabledcongratulatory messages to Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, Prime MinisterNguyen Xuan Phuc and Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

The Myanmar leaders expressed their delight atthe elevation of bilateral ties to the level of comprehensive cooperativepartnership and measures to enhance cooperation. They voiced their belief thatVietnam-Myanmar relations will further develop in the following years for theirpeople’s common interests and a stronger ASEAN Community.

In messages to their Vietnamese counterpartsTran Dai Quang and PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and PMNarendra Modi affirmed that India has attached importance to the friendship andcomprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam.

They stressed theimportance of 2017, which was designated as the Friendship Year to mark 45years of diplomatic relations and 10 years of the strategic partnership betweenIndian and Vietnam, believing that bilateral linkages will be further reinforcedin the time ahead.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro Moros alsooffered congratulations to President Tran Dai Quang, saying that his countrywants to intensify political relations, bilateral cooperation and friendshipwith Vietnam.

In his message of congratulations to theVietnamese President, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier also noted hiswish to bolster the relationship between Vietnam and Germany.

Meanwhile, President of the Republic of Korea(RoK) Moon Jae-in highly evaluated major achievements in his country’scooperation with Vietnam, adding that the RoK wants to continue reinforcingbilateral ties and wishes Vietnam successful hosting of the APEC EconomicLeaders’ Week this year.

Congratulating President Tran Dai Quang onVietnam’s 72nd National Day, US President Donald Trump wrote that he expects towork with the Vietnamese leader to boost the bilateral relationship and alsolooks forwards to a visit to Vietnam in November.

Italian President Sergio Mattarella wrote in hismessage that the long-standing friendship is connecting Hanoi and Rome,creating prerequisites for both sides to step up cooperation in more spheres.

French President Emmanuel Macron also offeredcongratulations to President Quang, noting that he wants to further develop France-Vietnamrelations in the lead up to five years of the strategic partnership and 45years of diplomatic ties in 2018.

Describing Vietnam as an important partner ofAustralia in the region, Governor-General of Australia Peter Cosgrove highlightedthe fruitful development of multifaceted cooperation. He stressed the hostingof the APEC Year 2017 is a great chance for the world to witness  Vietnam’s dynamic economic growth, andAustralia will continue supporting the Southeast Asian nation to successfullyorganise the APEC Year 2017, thus strengthening bilateral ties.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and PMVolodymyr Groysman also sent congratulations to their Vietnamese counterparts,affirming their country’s special attention to the comprehensive development ofbilateral relations.

They expressed their beliefthat strong efforts to beef up ties in all fields and seek new opportunities torealise existing potentials will continue generating positive outcomes, benefitingthe Ukrainian and Vietnamese people and create a momentum for expanding win-wincooperation.

On this occasion, Myanmar Foreign Minister AungSan Suu Kyi, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Ukrainian Foreign MinisterPavlo Klimkin alao extended congratulations to Vietnamese Deputy PM and ForeignMinister Pham Binh Minh.-VNA
