The six-day campaign aimed to boostfriendship and cooperation between the HCMCYU of Hanoi and the VientianeYouth Union and mark the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi,said Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi HCMCYU Nguyen Hong Dan, who is alsoChairman of the Hanoi Youth Association.
Thedelegation provided free medical check-ups and medicines for more than1,000 people and presented gifts for beneficiaries and families livingin difficult circumstances. Two sets of computer and a number of sportsequipment were also handed over to children in Vientiane during thecampaign.
The Hanoi HCMCYU partnered with theVientiane Youth Union to build a club for Phothon school as a joint workof the two capitals’ young people to celebrate Hanoi ’s millennialanniversary.
The Vietnamese volunteers took partin cultural and sports activities and exchanged experiences in youthunion work with the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union.
This is the fourth successive year the Hanoi HCMCYU has organisedvoluntary activities in Laos , contributing to bolstering the specialsolidarity between the two nations./.
