Quang Nam (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) and the Vietnam Youth Federation launched a programme called “In the footsteps of the nation’s heroes”, in the central province of Quang Nam on May 21, as part of activities marking the 70th Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947-2017).
The event is a chance for the youth to show gratitude toward people who have rendered services to the nation and the national liberation revolution and their families through practical activities such as providing free-of-charge health checkups, house upgrade and cemetery clean-up.
At the launching ceremony, President of the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) Nguyen Phi Long called for engagement in and support for the programme from young people nationwide.
On the occasion, the HCMCYU and the VYF presented local heroic mothers 100 gifts valued at 100 million VND (4,422 USD) in total.
