Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodia’s opposite party CNRP has announced its participation in the National Assembly (NA)’s upcoming session that falls on December 16.

The move was unveiled as the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) declared that it would cease boycotting the NA’s activities.

Local Voice of Democratic cited a CNRP spokesperson as saying that CNRP leader Sam Rainsy on December 14 decided the participation of CNPR parliamentarians in the upcoming session in the spirit of the culture of dialogue as well as for promoting Cambodia’s democratic progress.

The decision resulted from a recent meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Vice President of the Cambodia People’s Party (CPP) Sar Kheng and CNRP Vice President Kem Sokha, which took place on December 10.

CNRP parliamentarians have carried out their boycott since November after an attack occurred in front of the NA head office on October 26, wounding two CNRP parliaments.-VNA
