Hanoi (VNA) – Cambodia is predicted to sustain the 7-percent growth rate it achieved last year in 2017 and 2018, thanks to the development of tourism, construction and garment export.
In 2016, the country shipped overseas apparels worth 6.9 billion USD, an annual increase of 4.5 percent.
The local tourism sector welcomed 5 million foreign visitors and brought in more than 3 billion USD in revenue.
The construction sector attracted 8.5 billion USD in investment, up 156 percent year on year.
The Ministry of Commerce said, last year, the country’s import and export revenue recorded respective growth of 4.59 percent and 9.6 percent to 12.07 billion USD and 9.86 billion USD. This resulted in 2.2 billion USD in trade deficit.-VNA
