Elephant festival offers unique experience for visitors to Dak Lak

The Buon Don Elephant Festival kicked off in the Central Highlands’ province of Dak Lak on March 12, as part of the ongoing 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival.

The elephant festival features numerous activities such as a ceremony praying for health, a make-up contest, a buffet, and a bathing ceremony for the elephants.

This is a new highlight within the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival and offers a lot of interesting experiences for visitors.

Elephants are rare animals of the ethnic minority people in Buon Don district and are a symbol of local culture.

They appear in many community activities, especially in Krong Na commune, where a herd of elephants lives.

The elephant festival contributes to promoting local eco-tourism and culture./.
