Overseas Vietnamese promoting solidarity during conflict in Ukraine

Many Vietnamese in conflict-torn Ukraine have evacuated to neighbouring Poland. There, they were touched by the enthusiastic support coming from the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community. They have found national solidarity to be a life-saver during one the most difficult times of their lives.

Hundreds of Vietnamese nationals fleeing the military conflict in Ukraine were sent to the Vietnam Buddhist Cultural Centre in Warsaw on March 5. They felt more secure after being provided with temporary accommodation and necessities by the Vietnamese Embassy, the Vietnamese community, and Nhan Hoa Pagoda.

Many are expecting to return to the fatherland soon, on one of the Vietnamese Government’s repatriation flights.

As of the night of March 5, Nhan Hoa Pagoda had arranged accommodation for around 1,000 Vietnamese from Ukraine. It is also working on providing further support.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Poland is coordinating closely with authorities in the host country as well as Vietnamese committees and other organisations to offer timely support to those coming from Ukraine, while carrying out citizen protection work, including bringing Vietnamese nationals home on repatriation flights.

Bamboo Airways plans to conduct a flight on March 9./.
