The storm caused huge economic losses and seriously harmed agricultural production in the localities it it swept through.

The storm also caused landslides, flash floods that disrupted traffic, including Manila ’s metro service.

Nearly 200,000 people were evacuated. The total damage is estimated at 3 million USD.

According to the local meteorology forecast agency, heavy rain and strong wind continued to affect the northern parts of the Philippines after the typhoon moved to the southern part of Taiwan ( China ).

Meanwhile, Taiwan 's meteorology authority said the storm claimed one life and injured five after it hit the island's southern-most tip on September 21.

The typhoon brought more than 500 mm of precipitation and powerful winds to the southeastern region before moving northwards along the eastern coasts, according to Taiwan 's weather bureau.

At 8:30 p.m, the storm was located approximately 40 km to the northeast Hualien, moving north at a speed of 20 km per hour, the weather bureau said.-VNA
