Cuba sends greetings to Vietnam on Dien Bien Phu Victory anniversary

Havana (VNA) - Roberto Morales Ojeda, permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, on May 7 extended greetings to the Vietnamese Party and people on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954-2024).

In his message posted on a social network, the official highlighted the role of President Ho Chi Minh, the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the Vietnam People’s Army in the victory which resounded across the five continents and shook the world, and marked the defeat of the French colonialism.

On the same day, Cubadebate, the most-visited e-newspaper in Cuba, also ran an article featuring the grand ceremony Vietnam held to celebrate the victory.

Below this article, Cuban readers also sent congratulations to the leaders and people of Vietnam for their achievements in rebuilding the country after the two wars against French colonialists and US imperialists.
