Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia children meet for cultural exchange
Children from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia gathered at a cultural exchange in Ho Chi Minh City on July 30 as part of an on-going international exchange programme.
Children partake in the programme (Source: htv.com.vn)Visitors to the event were treated to special dances and music performances featuring the message of solidarity, peace and friendship among the three countries.
The programme, themed “Circle of Friends”, is taking place from July 28 to August 1 with the participation of nearly 180 children from the three Indochinese countries.
The participants have engaged in a wide range of activities to learn more about the traditional culture, history, language and development of the Indochinese nations.
The annual programme has been held since 2011 to strengthen solidarity and amity between Vietnamese, Lao and Cambodian children.-VNA

Making palm-leaf conical hats is a traditional craft of the Tay ethnic people in Bac Ha district in northern mountainous Lao Cai province. Woven from wild palm leaves, the hats are dried and skilfully crafted into their distinctive conical shape. As well as protecting wearers from sun and rain, the hats are also part of the traditional outfit of local women.
