Vietnam peace committee delegation visits Laos

At the meeting, Luu informed his host of the outcomes of the talks between the delegations of the Vietnam Peace Committee and the Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity, emphasising that cooperation between the two committees over the past time contributed to raising people’s awareness on consolidating and fostering the special Vietnam-Laos friendship.

The two sides will strengthen comprehensive cooperation, especially in information exchange and external relations between them at international and regional forums in the coming time, he added.

They will also maintain delegation exchanges and bilateral activities, assist Vietnamese Agent Orange victims and Lao mine victims, strengthen multilateral cooperation and take part in the World Peace Council’s activities.

Luu also affirmed that Vietnam will do its best to keep and foster the bilateral friendship and said he believes that the seventh Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP 7) hosted by Laos for the first time will be successful.

The Lao NA Chairwoman said Laos is ready for the ASEP 7, expressing her belief that the meeting will help increase mutual understanding and effective cooperation between Asian and European Parliaments.


She thanked Vietnam for assisting Laos over the last years as well as the preparation of the ASEP 7, affirming that the Lao people will do their utmost to preserve and develop the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.

On this occasion, the Lao NA Chairwoman, on behalf of President Chummaly Sayasone, presented the Friendship Order to the Vietnam Peace Committee for its efforts in boosting the special Vietnam-Laos solidarity and friendship as well as effective assistance to the Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity.-VNA
