The 10th ASEAN Skills Competition, which wrapped up successfully in Hanoi on October 28, has helped the bloc’s member states raise their national vocational training standards towards a single one that could well serve the ASEAN Community by 2015.
At the closing ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam stated that the competition, themed “Honesty – Integrity – Fairness – Collaboration – Creation” contributed to the development of traditional friendship and cooperation between ASEAN member states.
The contestants fuelled the passion for hardworking and continuous learning among young people in ASEAN for achieving better lives, he said.
He also expressed his hope that the 11th ASEAN Skills Competition will be successfully taken place in Malaysia, supporting the development of the association as the common house of peace and prosperity.
During the just-ended event, 57 golds, 22 silvers, 33 bronzes and 74 excellent skill certificates were awarded to the contestants from all the ten member states.-VNA
