Hanoi (VNA) –
Vietnam's relevant agenciesand representative offices in Indiaon May 19-20 coordinated with Indian counterparts to bring home nearly 340Vietnamese citizens.

Passengers on a VietnamAirlines flight include children, the elderly, people with illnesses, pregnant women, students without accommodation due to school closures, stranded tourists, Buddhist monks and nuns attending training courses, and those withexpired labour contracts.

As India isapplying nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19, it is difficultto carry out such flights.

The Vietnamese Embassyin New Delhiand the Vietnamese Consulate General in Mumbai guided Vietnamese citizens toconduct all necessary procedures, while actively working with the host’s authorised agencies to bring Vietnamese citizens home.

Passengers and crewmembers were quarantined upon arrival in the Can Tho international airport./.
