Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam on October 31 reported 5,519 new infections of COVID-19, including 15 imported ones, according to the Ministry of Health.
The figure is 280 cases higher than the previous day.
HCM City still detected the highest number of infections with 1,041, followed by Dong Nai province with 688 and Binh Duong province with 672.
The total caseload now stands at 921,122, including 916,286 recorded since the outset of the fourth coronavirus wave in late April.
The Ministry of Health also reported that 2,840 patients nationwide are in serious conditions, with 288 requiring invasive ventilation and 14 on life support (ECMO).
Over the last 24 hours, the country saw 53 deaths from the disease. The death toll now hits 22,083.
A further 1,998 patients were given the all-clear, taking the total recoveries to 820,334.
By October 30, the country had injected over 81.37 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with more than 24.33 million people now fully vaccinated./.
