86 new domestically-transmitted COVID-19 cases reported at noon on June 10

The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 88 new COVID-19 infections in the past six hours to 12pm on June 10, including 86 domestically-transmitted cases and two imported cases that were quarantined right upon their arrival in Kien Giang and An Giang provinces.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 88 new COVID-19 infections in the past six hours to 12pm on June 10, including 86 domestically-transmittedcases and two imported cases that were quarantined right upon theirarrival in Kien Giang and An Giang provinces.

Of the local cases, 52 were found in Bac Giang, 15 in Ho Chi Minh City, 10 inBac Ninh, four in Hanoi, two in Ha Tinh, one in Lang Son, one in Hai Duong and onein Long An.

As many as 81 cases were detected in quarantine or locked-down areas.

Ofthe 15 new cases in HCM City, ten are related to the Christian church cluster in Go Vap district while the sources of transmission for the other five are still underinvestigation.

All four cases reported in Hanoi are associated with a confirmed COVID-19 case – a 39-year-oldwoman who sells vegetables at a market in Dong Anh District.

Sixteen provinces have gone 14 days without new cases. They are Yen Bai,Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, ThuaThien-Hue, Dak Lak, Nam Dinh, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Son La, Ninh Binh, and Thanh Hoa.

As of noon on June 10, the country’s total number of infections stood at9,723, including 8,106 domestic cases and 1,617 imported cases. There have been 6,536 cases since the latest outbreak hit the country on April27. The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed 55 lives in Vietnam so far.

In a related news, the Phongsubthavy Group of Laos has contributed capital and medical supplies worth 1 million USD to Vietnam’s national COVID-19 vaccine fund.

Speaking at a handover ceremony, Phongsavath Senaphuan, chairman of the PhongsubthavyGroup, said the group wanted to join hands with the Vietnamese Party, Stateand people in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

Phongsavath said he expects the pandemic would brought under control soon./.
