AFP news agency (France) has just published an article assessing that Phu Quoc will become a new tourist attraction in Asia when the COVID-19 restrictions are going to be lifted.

At the end of November last year, about 200 Korean tourists set their feet in Phu Quoc. Of those, there was the case of Tae Hyeong Lee, who has visited Phu Quoc twice. He told AFP that he felt "great to be back".

Before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, there were about 5 million tourists, including half of a million international travelers, coming to Phu Quoc. The majority of international visitors come from China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Russia.

Phu Quoc is a UNESCO biosphere reserve – the waters surrounding the island are teeming with beautiful coral reefs and beaches where hawksbill turtles and green turtles come to build their nests.

In addition to high-class resorts and attractive tourist services such as the world's longest 3-wires cable car and Vietnam's first Teddy Bear museum, there are many other special forms of experience in Phu Quoc.

Chu Dinh Duc (26 years old) first came to Phu Quoc in 2017. Riding his motorbike through the Phu Quoc’s jungle and peaceful fishing villages where local fisherman brought their nets to the sea at dawn, the young man immediately fell in love with the island.

Two years later, he opened a simple homestay to serve foreign tourists.

Chu Dinh Duc, a businessman in Phu Quoc island: "If Phu Quoc remained unexploited, it would just be a pearl which has not been honed yet. But when there are major hotel developers who come to the island, like Intercontinental or Mariott, Phu Quoc would become a pearl that is well-honed, and it will be on the same level as Phuket or Bali./.
