- A ceremony was held in Buenos Aires on April 25 (local time) to mark the 50th founding anniversary of the Vietnam-Argentina diplomatic relations with the theme "Present and Future".
In his welcome speech, Ambassador Eduardo Lionel Demayo, Director of the Argentine Foreign Service Institute, underlined that Argentina considers Vietnam an important partner in Asia and believes that there are plenty of cooperation opportunities for the two sides. Read full story
- National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended the Vietnam-Argentina business forum in Buenos Aires on April 25 (local time), as part of his ongoing official visit to the Latin American country.
Addressing the forum, Cecilia Todesca Bocco, Secretary for International Economic Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina, said that the country is recovering after the COVID-19 pandemic, with GDP growth of 10.4% in 2021. - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc had a meeting with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina Pablo A. Tettamanti on April 25 (local time) in the framework of the official visit to the South American nation by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
During the meeting, the Argentine official spoke highly of the close and effective cooperation between the two foreign ministries in recent times, especially the preparation for Hue’s visit to Argentina. Read full story
- Judge Albert Hoffmann, President of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), has lauded Vietnam’s efforts in enforcing the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), during a recent working session with Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Vu Quang Minh.
At the working session at the ITLOS headquarters in Hamburg on April 24, the judge highlighted the Southeast Asian nation’s endeavours in perfecting relevant policies and laws, including the 2020 Law on Environmental Protection and the National Strategy on Climate Change by 2050. Read full story
- The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has forecast that Vietnam’s economy will grow firmly, with its GDP projected at 6.5% in 2023 and 6.6% next year, according to an economic survey announced at a ceremony in Hanoi on April 26.

- Four State-owned commercial joint stock banks in Vietnam have reached a high consensus on the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV)'s policy on reducing interest rates in the coming time.

- Bangkok-based SCG Packaging Plc (SCGP) has announced that it is acquiring a 70% stake in Starprint Vietnam JSC (SPV) for 1.53 billion BTH (44.5 million USD) to take advantage of positive prospects in Vietnam.
