– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has paid avisit to the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre to attend the 110th birthanniversary of Huynh Tan Phat, former President of the ProvisionalRevolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam, former Deputy PrimeMinister and Vice Chairman of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland FrontCentral Committee.
Within the framework of the visit, on February 15,PM Chinh visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families andchildren with disabilities in Ben Tre, and inspected some major infrastructureprojects in the locality.Read full text

– Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang onFebruary 15 suggested Vietnam and Japan strengthen their investmentcooperation, especially in spearhead industries, pay attention to technologytransfer to Vietnam, and promote green transition.

– Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang hassigned a decision issuing an action plan on fighting illegal, unreported andunregulated (IUU) fishing and preparing for working sessions with the fourthinspection delegation of the European Commission (EC).
The plan’s objectives are to enforce legalprovisions on fisheries in a concerted and effective manner, and address allshortcomings and limitations as recommended by the EC in order to have its“yellow card” warning removed within 2023.Read full text

– Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on February 15 called onthe Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) to actively joingreen transformation and green projects in Vietnam, when receiving SurendraRosha, Co-Chief Executive of HSBC Asia-Pacific.
Appreciating HSBC's pioneering strategy in implementing a fairenergy transition, the Deputy PM expressed his desire that the bank will becomea "credit filter" and actively participate in projects of greenindustrial parks, zero-emission factories, reduction of greenhouse gasemissions in transportation, construction, industrial production as well asafforestation projects, or renewable energy projects.Read full text

- Vietnam needs a budget of up to 600 billion USD to achievethe target of carbon neutrality by 2050, according to Kazuo Kusakabe, ChiefRepresentative of Toshiba Asia Pacific Pte Ltd in Hanoi.

– Bloomberg on February 14 published an article “Silicon Valleytalent is helping grow Vietnam’s startup hub”, quoting founders’ opinion thatan abundance of inexpensive engineers coupled with a fast-growing economy makesVietnam an attractive spot for startups.
The article cites a report published in July 2022 by KPMGInternational Ltd and HSBC Holdings Plc which states that the number ofstartups in the country nearly doubled from the beginning of the COVID-19pandemic to mid-2022.Read full text

– A national hybrid conference marking the 80th anniversaryof the “Outline of Vietnamese Culture”, the first platform on culture launchedby the Communist Party of Vietnam, will be held on February 27, according tothe Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Singaporean FM highlights shared strategic outlook with Vietnam

Speaking to Vietnam News Agency correspondents in New Delhi, Pradhan noted that, drawing on his extensive experience in national security and international relations, as well as his deep knowledge of international law, the top Vietnamese leader identified three closely interrelated crises facing the world today: a crisis of the international order, a crisis of the development model, and a crisis of strategic trust.

Administrative procedures cut, simplified to be published online

The dispatch states that in implementing Conclusion No. 18-KL/TW dated April 2, 2026 of the 14th Party Central Committee on the 2026–2030 socio-economic development plan, national finance, public debt management and medium-term public investment, linked to the goal of achieving double-digit economic growth, the Government on April 29 issued 11 resolutions on cutting, decentralising and simplifying administrative procedures, business conditions, and conditional business lines. The Prime Minister subsequently directed ministries, agencies and localities to implement these resolutions.

Vietnamese, Angolan foreign ministers hold talks in Hanoi

The Vietnamese FM proposed that the two sides strengthen political trust through high-level exchanges, while maintaining existing cooperation mechanisms, particularly the Vietnam–Angola Intergovernmental Committee and Political Consultations between the two foreign ministries.
