- The 15th National Assembly (NA) commenced the question-and-answer activity in Hanoi on June 4, following the agenda of its ongoing 7th session.
In his opening remarks, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man made clear that the four issue groups for questioning and answering fall under the responsibility of the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, the Minister of Industry and Trade, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Vietnam. - The General Department of Vietnam Customs is hosting the 33rd Meeting of the ASEAN Directors-General of Customs that opened in Phu Quoc city, the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang on June 4.
As the most important annual event of the cooperation mechanism in the field within the bloc, the meeting drew the participation of some 100 delegates from the 10 ASEAN member states, the ASEAN Secretariat, and ASEAN partners including China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, the World Customs Organisation, the US-ASEAN Business Council, and the EU-ASEAN Business Council. - The Vietnamese Embassy in Switzerland and the Swiss-Vietnamese Economic Forum (SVEF) are organising several events at the University of Zurich for June 3-4.

The joint initiative between the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) aims to spread nice images on the theme of people and technology, toward building a digital society where communities are better served, happier and wealthier, and stay safer thanks to scientific knowledge and products. - Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh emphasised the need to take measures early to ensure water security which is threatened by climate change while addressing a question-and answer-session of the 15th National Assembly (NA)’s 7th sitting on June 4.
Forecasting and prevention play an important role in responding to natural disasters, he said, noting the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) has asked relevant agencies to upgrade equipment and coordinate with international organisations to improve their forecast capacity, which is approaching international standards. - Following her first gold in the women’s 3,000m run, Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh secured another in women’s 1,500m on June 4 at the ongoing 13th ASEAN School Games in the central city of Da Nang.

- Film lovers in Vietnam will have a chance to enjoy several Japanese films when the Japanese Film Festival Online comes back this June.
Organised by the Japan Foundation (JF), the event will take place from June 5 to July 3 as part of the Japanese Film Festival (JFF), sharing the excitement of Japanese cinema with the world. The third edition of the festival will be held in 27 countries and regions, excluding Japan. Read full story
- The Vietnam Post Corporation (Vietnam Post)’s IT system was breached by ransomware at 3:10 am on June 4, leaving direct impact on the operations of postal and delivery services, the company has reported.
Following the attack, financial postal, public administration, and goods distribution services remain unaffected as of now, it said. Read full story
- A reticulated python (Python reticulatus) has been released to a special-use forest within the Pu Hoat natural reserve in the central province of Nghe An’s Que Phong district.
The reptile, weighing about 6kg and in stable health conditions, was handed over to the Que Phong forest ranger department on June 3, a day before the release./. Read full story
