Amway Vietnam Co . Ltd granted 700 scholarships to children in special difficulty in the central province of Thanh Hoa on August 15.
This is a three-billion-VND (141,000 USD) project financed by Amway Vietnam to support children in difficult circumstances in the province for the 2011-2013 period.
The project has offered scholarships as well as bicycles and learning aids, medical services and educational support to 2,000 students in the province’s Nong Cong and Nhu Thanh districts.
Apart from vocational training courses, the project has also transferred agricultural techniques and knowledge to households with children in special need, helping improve the province’s child care and protection management.
Amway Vietnam Director General How Kam Chiong said his company has financed 8.4 billion VND (394,800 USD) in community activities from 2008-2012.
The firm will make continued contributions to improve the country’s management of child care and protection and timely support Vietnamese students in need, Chiong added.-VNA
