An Giang (VNA) – Chairman of southern An Giang provincial People’s Committee Vuong Binh Thanh and leaders of the Cambodian provinces of Takeo and Kandal reviewed bilateral cooperation in the first half and set tasks for the remaining months of this year, during a meeting in An Giang on August 9-10.

Both sides expressed their satisfaction with bilateral ties across social security and order in border areas, trade, agriculture, culture, tourism, health care, transport, front work, border demarcation, and the search for and repatriation of the remains of voluntary Vietnamese soldiers in Cambodia.

In the past six months, the three provinces conducted regular information exchanges and patrols to safeguard the borderline and markers and dealt with law violations across the border, contributing to ensuring social security and order and socio-economic development.

In the remaining months of this year, they agreed to strengthen security and order, facilitate trade and travel cross the border and invest in infrastructure building.

Each side will raise public awareness of law abidance in their countries, boost cultural and economic exchanges, maintain political security and social order, towards tightening solidarity and friendship between the two nations and peoples.-VNA
