Hanoi (VNA) – The performance “Angels of Italy” will return to Le Phung Hieu Street in Hanoi on June 2 night to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Italian Republic (June 2), the Embassy of Italy in Vietnam said on May 30.

The event will include a fashion show that features designs by Vietnamese designers Xuan Hao, Quang Huy and Minh Hanh. The designs are inspired by Italian stamps, depicting the country’s beauty and telling the story of its development over the past seven decades.

Guests can have a taste of Italian cuisine and enjoy a choir of Vietnamese and Italian kids singing with Italian violinists Marica and Deniele Anderle and pianist Sandra Stojanovic.

Vietnamese pianist Pho An My, two-chord fiddle (dan nhi) artist Thuy Anh and singer Thuy Chi will also team up to take to the stage a mixture of Eastern and Western melodies.

Vietnam and Italy established their diplomatic ties 43 years ago (1973), said Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Cecilia Piccioni.

She noted that a corner of Le Phung Hieu Street will be recreated as a street in Italy in celebration of the 70th Italian Republic Day, showcasing the European nation’s signature culture and arts and symbolising Vietnam-Italy relations.-VNA
