Hanoi (VNA) – The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has decided to adjust dates for the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced on August 28.

Accordingly, the tournament’s group stage matches will start from December 8 instead of November 24, followed by double-legged semi-finals on December 26 -30. The finals will be played on January 2 and January 5,2025.

The tournament’s qualification round between Brunei and Timor-Leste will remain on October 8 and October 15. The winner will be in Group A together with Thailand, Malaysia, singapore and Cambodia. Meanwhile, Group B includes Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar and Laos.

Teams from the same seeded group will not meet in the group stage.

They play in a round robin format in the group stage, with home and away matches. The top two teams in each group will then advance to the semifinals.

As part of the preparation plan for the Southeast Asian Championship - Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024, the Vietnam national team will gather again on August 30, with 26 players called up during FIFA Days in September 2014.

During this gathering, coach Kim Sang Sik and the team will be tested at the LPBank Cup 2024 International Friendly Tournament, with the participation of teams from Russia and Thailand.

The LPBank Cup 2024 will take place from September 5-10 at My Dinh National Stadium, Hanoi./.
