Hanoi (VNA) – Many Hong Kong firms are investingin Vietnam and looking for potential projects, said chief executive of HongKong Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said.
In an interview with the Vietnam News Agency ahead of her attendance at theAPEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the central city of Da Nang, she laudedgrowing cooperation between Hong Kong and Vietnam, particularly in economics,trade and investment.
Hong Kong (China) is the 6th biggest trade partner of Vietnam, while Vietnam isthe 3rd biggest trade partner of Hong Kong in ASEAN.
The official said she believes the partnership would thrive after the Hong Kong– ASEAN free trade agreement is signed this November.
The number of Hong Kong tourists to Vietnam has soared asthe country keeps offering more attractive tourism products, Carrie Lam added.
She said Vietnam houses beautiful sea ports and diversetourism potentials that could enable bilateral cooperation in the sector.-VNA
