ASEAN officials working in the public service sector are meeting in Vientiane, Laos, to discuss the group’s cooperation in bettering the quality of public services and laying out their working plan toward 2016.

At the three-day meeting, which began on October 28, participants from all the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations shared experiences in the field, including ways to develop human resources.

The meeting, the 15th of its kind, is to evaluate the initial outcomes of public services-related work in the 2008-2010 period put forward at the previous meeting as well as cooperative projects by ASEAN member countries in this area.

The participants will hold a meeting with representatives from China, the Republic of Korea and Japan, which are ASEAN dialogue partners./.
