Hanoi will host the annual meeting of Asia-Oceania Tax Consultants’ Association (AOTCA) on October 17-18, said the Vietnam Tax Consultants’ Association (VTCA).
The event, held in Vietnam for the first time, will be attended by about 300 experts from over 20 countries and territories worldwide such as the United Kingdom , Australia , China , Japan , the Republic of Korea and Singapore .
Main items on the conference’s agenda include tax policy and incentives to attract investment; regulations to fight tax fraud; transfer pricing and advance pricing agreement (APA); rights and obligations of tax payers; and the fall in taxable income and profit shifting- causes and impacts on developing nations.
According to VTCA President Nguyen Thi Cuc, the event will provide a good opportunity for Vietnam to learn from developed countries’ experience in the field.
Established in 1992 with 10 founding members, AOTCA now has 22 members from 15 countries, representing 330,000 professionals in the region.
In 2008, VTCA joined the organisation as an observer and became the association’s official member in 2009.-VNA
