More than 30 city leaders and senior government officials in Asia are visiting Singapore to study its experience in urban development as part of a programme that turned into the second year.

The urban development programme, organised by the Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC), was designed for Singapore to share its achievements as well as failure in urban development, CLC's Associate Director Julian Goh said.

The five-day programme encompasses seminars where participants are updated with applicable solutions Singapore are taking to promote sustainable urban development, deal with flood in cities, improve slum housings and preserve cultural and architectural heritages in the course of urban development.

It also includes fact-finding tours to Toa Payoh district and Marina Barrage dam.

Participants are expected to outline detailed plans for projects to be developed in their countries and work closely with CLC to realise the plans following this trip.-VNA
