The first Asian-Pacific Poetry Festival will be held in the northern province of Quang Ninh on Feb. 2-3.
This information was released at a press conference held by the Vietnam Writers’ Association on Jan. 6 in Hanoi .
Vice President of the association, poet Nguyen Quang Thieu said this is the first time that Vietnam will host the Asian-Pacific poetry festival, titled “Poetry for a peaceful, cooperative and developed Asia-Pacific”.
To date, 81 poets from 27 countries and territories have registered to join the festival. Vietnam also selected 40 participants.
Thieu also said the tenth Poetry Day will be held right after the poetry festival ends, at Hanoi’s Temple of Literature on Feb. 4./.
