Peace Trees Vietnam (PTVN) received de-mining equipment from Australian donors in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri province on April 16.
The gear, which included 19 de-mining aprons and two trauma kits valued at 60,000 USD, will be used by PTVN Expsive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams working in central Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces.
The donors are also scheduled to visit land mine victims and witness work on removing unexploded ordnance in the rural mountainous village of A Xinh in Huong Hoa district on April 17.
Since starting work in Vietnam in 1995, US-based PTVN has found 106,531 pieces of unexploded ordnances and cleared 163ha of land contaminated by landmines.-VNA
