Bac Giang (VNA) – The northern province of Bac Giang is working to wipe out temporary and dilapidated houses by June, helping improve living conditions for vulnerable residents.

Progress thus far shows significant momentum in the housing renovation programme. Out of 813 approved projects, construction has started on 343 houses, with 82 completed and handed over to families in need.

Some districts have emerged as leaders in the initiative, including Yen The, Luc Nam, and Lang Giang. However, others such as Hiep Hoa, Luc Ngan, Chu, and Viet Yen have made slower progress.

The province has taken steps to address challenges, particularly land-related issues that have hindered housing improvements. Of the 605 identified land-related complications, officials have resolved 51 cases and expect to clear an additional 242 by May 2025.

To accelerate the programme, provincial authorities are implementing a range of strategies, including enhanced oversight of the work, mobilising funds, and ensuring timely capital disbursement./.
