Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has promoted an Earth Hour event, campaigning for the restoration of the Bang Khun Thian mangrove forest on March 30.

The BMA’s environmental and green initiatives include biking to collect garbage, garbage management, planting mangrove trees, mangrove cutting for plant propagation, and seeding mangrove forests in Bang Khun Thian district.

Moreover, the BMA has also asked for cooperation from the public, private and civil sectors to turn off lights for one hour from 8:30pm to 9:30pm on March 30, joining 188 other countries, to reduce global warming.

Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Every year, millions of people around the world join the Earth Hour movement and switch off their lights for one hour as a gesture of support for protecting the planet and stopping climate change.-NNT/VNA
