Binh Phuoc (VNA) – Eighty one landless ethnic minority households in Bu Gia Map district in the southern province of Binh Phuoc have been presented with 81 breeding cows to help with their livelihood.
The cows, each worth 15 million VND (666 USD), are sponsored by Vietcombank’s branch office in the neighbouring province of Binh Duong.
These households were also allocated land for production, seeds and tree saplings and a supply of food for six months.
The district’s Agriculture and Rural Development Department earlier organised training classes on cow raising for the beneficiaries.
From now to the end of 2015, Vietcombank’s branch office in Binh Duong will hand over another 19 cows to poor ethnic minority households in Binh Phuoc’s Phu Rieng district.-VNA
Poor households nationwide given breeding cows
Some 5,896 households in 69 poorest districts nationwide have received one breeding cow each worth 7m VND from the Vietnam Red Cross under the charity programme “Cow bank”.
