Bomb weighing 450kg found in Hung Yen

A bomb weighing about 450kg was removed from a field in Kim Dong district in the northern province of Hung Yen, the provincial Military Command said on December 16.

HungYen (VNA) - A bomb weighing about 450kg was removed from afield in Kim Dong district in the northern province of Hung Yen, the provincialMilitary Command said on December 16. 

The 1.82m-long bomb was found one metreunderground in Mieu Nha village, Song Mai commune when a local farmer family duga pond to raise fish. It is of the MK-83 type and believed to be dropped by USmilitary in around 1972.

The local defence forces have moved the bomb safely to theshooting range of the provincial Command for detonation.

Recently, dozens of bombs and artillery shells have beenunearthed and safely destroyed in the districts of Tien Lu, Kim Dong, Van Giangin Hung Yen.-VNA
