Bui Thi Minh Hoai re-elected as Secretary of 18th-tenure Hanoi Party Committee

Born in 1965 in Ninh Binh province, Hoai holds degrees in law and economics. Since July 2024, she has been a member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, and head of the city’s delegation of National Assembly deputies.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Organisation for the 2025–2030 tenure on October 17 announced the results of the first meeting of the 18th-tenure municipal Party Committee, with Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member and Secretary of the 17th-tenure Hanoi Party Committee, re-elected for this new term.

Four Deputy Secretaries of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure were also elected. They are Tran Sy Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the 17th-tenure Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee; Nguyen Van Phong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the 17th-tenure Committee; Phung Thi Hong Ha, member of the Standing Board of the 17th-tenure Committee and Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Council; and Nguyen Trong Dong, member of the Standing Board of the 17th-tenure Committee and Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee.

The congress also officially announced the 17 members of the Standing Board and 12 members of the inspection board of the 18th-tenure Hanoi Party Committee.

During the morning session, delegates elected official and alternate delegates to attend the 14th National Party Congress.

Earlier, on the afternoon of October 16, the congress elected 75 members to the 18th-tenure municipal Party Committee with high consensus. Hoai received the highest vote rate of 99.27%.

Hanoi’s 18th Party Congress convenes
